Behind the Scenes – Fashion Show
So this past Fashion Week here in Paris, I had the pleasure to work with Exalt Fashion on a fashion show for Gerda Truubon, a designer out of London! I thought I’d give you a behind the scenes look!
So, the first step to any job is getting my suitcase ready. Yes, I said suitcase! I have a carry on sized suitcase that I use to carry around my products! As you can see, everything is packed up nicely in its own case – organization is key to fitting everything in! It also makes taking products out and putting them away WAY faster!
A look is usually agreed on and sent to you before the show so you know what to bring. Of course, as is usually the case, the look can change last minute so you have to bring different kinds of products, just in case, because you have to be prepared – you can’t go home to get them! You need to be able to meet the demands of the designer without any question. This was the look sent out to the team:
We ended up doing a second look on certain girls – a classic eyeliner look with red lips.
So, fashion shows are pretty intense! They can be hectic but so much fun! You don’t have a lot of room for your products (so again, organization is key!) and you have a lot of models to get ready in very little time. We had 12 minutes with each model. It’s good to keep your table clean and have your main products and brushes close at hand. Things can get pretty chaotic!
Once the models are ready, hair and makeup done, they get dressed, line up and it’s off to the runway! This fashion show was in a hotel so the runway was in a hall in between the seated spectators.
