Homemade Plumping Lip Scrub
It is now officially fall and with the changing weather comes chapped lips! Ouch! Chapped lips definitely do not mix with matte or long lasting lipsticks, especially since a lot of so-called long lasting lipsticks tend to dry out your lips even more than usual! So it’s really important to exfoliate and moisturize on a regular basis! Soft moisturized lips are essential for a flawless lipstick application! No matter what kind of lipstick you decide to wear.
Here is a simple recipe for a homemade plumping (yes, plumping!) lip scrub. Guaranteed you already have all the ingredients at home!
All you need is:
2 tablespoons (Cuillère à soupe for my French girls) of brown sugar
½ tablespoon (demi CàS) of olive oil
(You could use coconut oil or almond butter, if you prefer!)
½ tablespoon of raw honey
½ teaspoon (demi Cuillère à café) of ground cinnamon
Mix all the ingredients together in a little bowl, et voilà! Super easy!
Apply the scrub to your lips and rub gently on and around your lips. Rinse the scrub off with warm water. Honestly, you could lick off the scrub, it’s pretty tasty!! You will probably feel a little tingling sensation; that’s completely normal. The cinnamon has a natural plumping effect on the lips!
Your lips will be nice and soft and a little fuller! Apply some lip balm afterwards. The act of scrubbing the lips just before will help the lip balm to absorb deeper!
This recipe makes quite a bit of scrub, so it should last you all month long if you’re applying once or twice a week. Just store it in a little container. Before adding the cinnamon to my recipe I actually split my scrub in half and decided to make one half with the cinnamon and the other half with Pumpkin Spice! It makes for a great fall inspired pumpkin pie scrub (yum!)
All that is left to do after scrubbing and moisturizing is to apply your favorite lipstick and look FABULOUS! I think I can count on you to do that!
ELF’s Mascara Primer
I love this primer! It is a white mascara that you apply to your lashes before your regular mascara to thicken and extend your lashes. You can only apply it to the base of your lashes for thickness and volume or only to the tips of your lashes to make them longer and curl them upwards. Once applied, wait a couple minutes before applying your regular mascara. You will definitely see a difference! I no longer have to curl my lashes to get the effect I want, and thank goodness because the eyelash curler was destroying my lashes! But want to know the best part about this primer? It’s only $3!!!
