Marie Antoinette’s Skincare Secret: A Rose & Honey Face Mask Recipe

Can’t get enough of Marie Antoinette’s Skincare regime? Me neither, so I have another face mask recipe for you! Inspired by ingredients she would have used at the time, including her favorite floral water, this mask will have your skin glowing in no time!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoons raw honey

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (full-fat works best)

  • 1 teaspoon rose water

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon finely ground oats (for gentle exfoliation)

How to prepare:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth.

  2. Apply to clean, dry skin.

  3. Leave on for 15–20 minutes.

  4. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

  5. Spray skin with your favorite floral water, maybe rose again or perhaps orange blossom for some extra vitamin C.

  6. Apply a moisturizer to lock it all in!

The natural ingredients used in this recipe are all so good for your skin – they were really on to something in the 18th century! For example, Honey is naturally antibacterial and hydrating. Yogurt contains lactic acid which is great for gentle exfoliation. Rose water soothes and refreshes the skin, it’s also great for hyper pigmentation, scarring and sensitive skin (learn more from my guide!) Finally, grounds oats will calm skin irritation and soften texture.

This face mask is great to do during a Sunday reset! Recovering from the past week all while rejuvenating for the upcoming.

What do you think? Would you give it a try?
